The most clean House Award winner

The Most Hard worker Award winner

Today, Saturday 15th May 2010 marks the day of Hygiene for the Afiaman church of Christ. The members of the congregation at 7am this morning embarked on a a clean-up exercise in a village called Mayera about 5 miles away from Afiaman. The team was lead by the Preacher (Lawrence Lamptey). There were 20 members who participated in the exercise. Our goal is to preach Christ through cleanliness and also encourage the inhabitant to learn how to keep their environment clean.

The Activities performed include
weeding, sweeping, picking unwanted materials, burning and clearing around a borehole which was formally used by the people but not in used anymore because of the weeds around it. We had wished the people of the village come in to help us do the cleaning but unfortunate non except two (one male and a female)came. The man was the only drunkard who enjoyed helping us even though you could smell all the alcohol.

As part of the exercise, there was a presentation of awards.
One award goes to the most clean house before we arrived then the next one went to the most hardworking person from the village. In this package of the award are
2 soaps, tooth brush and tooth paste,a powdered soap and a full Bible. This was given to each of the winners. They are both women.
This project was organized to create awareness of the Lord's church because it is our future plan to go and evangelize there and if possible establish the Lord's church in the village. One intresting thing we encountered was; a lady who saw us working approached us and wanted to find out where we are coming from (or who we are) one of the brothers and told her we are brethren from the church of Christ that meets at Afiaman (H.C.C Campus) and she was amazed because she said "I am also a member of the church of Christ but I worship at Pokuase that is about 10 miles away from Mayera. Meaning this woman seems do not know that there is one closer to her which is Afiaman.

We are very happy the Lord is really using use to make impart in the lives of many. We believed that the little effort we have just exhibited the Lord will surely bless it and will yeild much fruits.

Thank you for staying with us all this while.

Lawrence Lamptey.

Happy Mother's Day

Afiaman Church of Christ on Sunday 9th organized and nice wonderful cerebration to the all the mothers in the church. There were 23 mothers present even though there were other women we earmark only mothers. A message from we the children was read by three little girls on behave all the church to our mothers after which we pray for the mothers and joined them to enjoy their cake which was prepared and donated our Preacher.

The Joy of Being a Christian

It will interest you to know that Richard a young energetic guy was so much happy for being added to the children of God. Richard who was invited by sister Abigail to visit us Afiaman church of Christ) heard the Goodnews after his one month continues visit made it know to the whole congregation that "I am so touched by the message today, I am confessing that Jesus is the son of God and He came to die for my sins, therefore I want to give myself to him through baptism" This brought great joy in the hearts of the brethren on the that faithful Sunday.

Richard is 20 years old and living with his mother and siblings the mother is a petty trader. Richard finished his junior high school and could not continue again because there is no one to help him continue. Therefore, he hangs around friends to find something doing. unfortunately, these friends are not Christians except Abigail who was her school mate at Amasaman D/A J.S.S.

Please we are asking you to keep Bro. Richard in your prayers, we will publish his particulars soon for those who want to contact him.

What is Happening to the Lord's church today?

I urge you all to join me in a discussion base on the questions below, where we will be trying to find some answers to the problems of the church.

1. What do you think is the cause of the problem in the church today esecially in our worship?
2. How can we get members involved and enjoy the service since our worship have been a sort of daily routine e do every sunday?.
3. How will you help a village church who have no Lord's super tray and cups to artake of the Lord's supper?
4. Do you think scripture forbid women serving table (Lord's Supper)?

Please let me hear from you.

Thank you

THE HIREX FOUNDATION

Hello fellow brethren in the Lord's Kingdom. We are very grateful to come your way this day with this wonderful blog of Hirex Foundation. A ministry actively involved in preaching the Gospel through provision of Basic Human Needs. We are reminded of the connection between helping the poor and the opportunity for winning their souls for Christ and bringing them to an intimate relationship with both the church and the Lord Jesus Christ and to share the love that is found in Christ.

This Ministry as you all know is running three major programs such as:
Evangelism/Mission Effort
Orphan Care and
Health Care.

The ministry is doing all it can to start a Child development School (HIREX CHRISTIAN SCHOOL) and the children in the church and the community would be previlaged to obtain education. Currently the 12 children under the ministry care are attending a different school because the ministry have not gotten her own school building.

Serveral evangelism efforts have been participated by the ministry with the youth of Amasaman church of Christ and the Afiaman church of Christ. We actually don't travel out side Ghana because, we are not fully equipped with funds to travel, nevertheless, there are many work here which we even need more volunteers to come and help us with. Please if you are interested in volunteering with us kindly contact Lawrence Lamptey at email: lawrence.lamptey@gmail.com
Volunter opportunities include, Teaching in public schools, health care assistance, preaching and evangelism work, woking with an orphanage home, Construction, working with women and young girls, Youth involvement and child Care.

We would be very happy to hear from you for any of these opportunities to help minister to the people of Ghana . Do not forget that teaching english using the bible is an opportunity for you to teach the bible.

On this blog you will be reading a lot of infomation about the weekly activities of the Ministry's involvement in many of her activities both with Afiaman church of Christ and the activities of the Ministry. Therefore, we are urging to visit this blog every week to read much about what is going on.
